When the $99 add-on rolls out at the end of this month, it'll improve the iPhone 7's "talk time" by up to 26 hours, Apple says. The case can also add 22 hours of internet use and 24 hours of internet playback: Since you probably do all of these things on your iPhone, your performance will likely vary.

Apple's own website seems to confirm this, as the iPhone 6S Smart Battery Case only promised to juice your device for up to 18 hours of internet use and 20 hours of video playback.
If you're unfamiliar with the product, they're similar to cases from companies like Mophie. Basically, it's an external battery that you charge up and hook directly into your iPhone when your power is low — allowing you to charge the device without a power outlet.
Depending on how much you use your iPhone 7 — or how much you travel — you might be able to last without an external case. As noted in our review of the device, the iPhone 7 can last for more than a day with moderate use.
