Great news65 Days of Solo Pleasure 3: Secret Office Sex Successionfans: we're not even three hours into the second season and HBO is already hungry for more.
The series about a dysfunctional family of mega-rich media people -- think Rupert Murdoch and co., only fictional -- will have more story to tell after the second season is over. There isn't a date yet, but the first two seasons fell in 2018 and 2019 -- it's not a stretch to speculate that 2020 will bring Season 3.
"We are elated that Successionand its exploration of wealth, power and family has resonated so powerfully with audiences,” HBO exec Francesca Orsi said in a statement. "We cannot wait to see how the complex characters that Jesse Armstrong has created continue to navigate this captivating, ruthless world of the uber-rich."
The second season of Successionpremiered on Aug. 11, and it did well enough to convince HBO that the world wants to keep this story rolling. And why wouldn't it? Succession's up-close look at a life of wealth and privilege is airing at a time when people all over the world are starting to question if there's such a thing as "too rich." (Spoiler alert: Yes, there is.)
Mashable critic Angie Han called attention to this very thing after the second season premiered, calling it "the rare show about wealth that doesn't make it look particularly fun."
SEE ALSO: 'Succession' Season 2 captures the trainwreck of late capitalism"The first season of Jesse Armstrong's HBO drama introduced us to the Roys, the tight-knit clan behind a lucrative media empire, and then picked them apart bit by bit, revealing them to be even more dysfunctional than we'd previously imagined," Han's review continued. "They're warped by privilege, starved for love, and ensnared by their father's looming legacy."
You can catch Succession's second season every Sunday on HBO at 9:00 p.m.
