The Dear Utol (2025): Chick! Episode 47best day of the year for booking travel is right around the corner. After Thanksgiving, and Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, comes Travel Deal Tuesday, as revealed by data collected by the app Hopper. That sweet spot between holidays is when people like to book their winter travel, and the deals are pretty tempting.
SEE ALSO: Black Friday 2017 deals from all over the internet, compiled just for you in one handy spreadsheetThe folks at Hopper analyzed travel purchase data historically and found an insane spike on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. In 2016, flight purchase activity was double the normal rate, and in 2015 it was six times higher. Because there are so many deals and quotes to keep track of, Hopper added a feature to help.
Hopper collects some 10 to 15 billion air fare price quotes every day, and found that there are significantly more deals available the day after Cyber Monday:
Deals include flights to Central and South America in the $300-$400 range, flights to the U.K. and Europe in the $500s, and even more cities as well as many in Asia for $600 to $750. Sales for domestic flights in the U.S. predict round trips under $300 (except to Hawaii, but you knew that).
Like Black Friday, early morning is the best time to score a deal you don't want to miss out on, with deals peaking between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Eastern.
Anyway, did someone say Hopper?
