"The Adults Are Talking Now" gets at his confused demeanor and tendency to be pulled in every direction by the Roys. It's possibly the most eclectic group of songs of all the characters.

Rather than diving deep into his psyche, these songs lean heavily into his out-of-touch presidential campaign. His relationship with his family is hinted at with "Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show" and "Cat's in the Cradle," and "Got My Mind Set On You" and "Better Than Me" reference his relationship with Willa.
