It looks like the iPhone 6S battery woes might994 Archivesa wider-ranging issue than Apple originally thought.
SEE ALSO: Apple's new iPhone 7 ad features the cutest 'Romeo and Juliet' everWith reports of unexpected shutdowns plaguing phones with serial numbers outside of the previously announced "very small number" of iPhone 6S devices, Apple has once again issued a statement to reassure concerned customers that their voices have been heard.
And once again, the company has only made this information available on its Chinese language website.
The statement touts Apple's achievement of the "highest customer satisfaction rating of any smartphone maker in China and around the world," before rehashing the pertinent details of the battery shutdown saga. The new information comes at the very end, seen below:
In a separate statement to Mashable, Apple representatives repeated the new text word-for-word, with no comment on why the clarification hasn't been released on Apple's U.S. support page.
On one hand, the news of a potential software patch solution is welcome. Not having to exchange devices or spend time and money on replacements is a relief for affected users — if the software update is indeed the solution, that is.
On the other hand, continuing to release updates only on the Chinese page while customers around the world are reportedly affected by the shutdowns remains an issue. Once the promised software update has a chance to get to work, we expect more information will be available everywhere.
