Plan on george bataille eroticism and death breakdowntaking a break from your porn habit this Valentine's Day? You're not alone.
Data from the folks at Pornhub reveals that traffic on the 14th drops as much as 17 percent after 6 p.m. Funnily enough, dating apps like Tinder see an increase in activity on Valentine's Day. Seems like people are too busy trying to get it on IRL to bother looking for satisfaction online.
As the clock creeps towards midnight, Pornhub searches pick back up a bit -- either because people's dates are over or they're looking to add a little additional spice to their adventures together. Still it's a well below average night in the porn universe.
They found that there was a bigger decrease among women. Interestingly, their searches started to taper off around 2 p.m. and by 9 p.m. they'd dropped by about 22 percent. For men, that drop was only 16 percent and it didn't start to fall until 6 p.m. -- or right around when their evening plans might be getting underway.

Search terms like "love" and "romance" go way up (by 269 percent and 161 percent, respectively), and "Valentine" sees a whopping 1,093 percent increase. Gotta get in that holiday spirit!
And, of course, for those who are looking to up their game with their IRL partners, terms like "sensual," "massage" and even "bondage" go up. And even "babysitter" goes up, presumably inspired by couples returning after a rare date night out.
Plenty of food for thought no matter how you plan to spend your Valentine's night.
