Well,Tramas Ardientes S01 E09 that didn't last long.
Sony's PlayStation VR2 headset launched about a year ago with the promise of delivering high-quality VR exclusively for PlayStation 5. According to a short paragraph in a Thursday post on the PlayStation Blog, however, that could change soon:
SEE ALSO: 'Final Fantasy VII Rebirth' is everything you could want it to beAlso, we’re pleased to share that we are currently testing the ability for PS VR2 players to access additional games on PC to offer even more game variety in addition to the PS VR2 titles available through PS5. We hope to make this support available in 2024, so stay tuned for more updates.
The wording there is just vague enough to leave plenty of questions. Which "additional games" on PC will get PSVR2 support? When is this support coming in 2024? We don't know yet on either front.
But we can say with certainty that you'll be able to use a PSVR2 headset on a PC without resorting to weird fan-made mods this year. It's a fascinating strategy shift for Sony, which launched the headset a year ago without much in the way of great, original games to play for it, or backwards compatible support for PSVR1 games. That problem has persisted to 2024, as there just haven't been any huge splashes for PSVR2 since launch.
So, if you bought a PSVR2, and happen to have a powerful gaming PC, the two might meet at some point later this year.
