Rose McGowan's 12-hour long Twitter suspension has left people scratching their heads and Bridesmaids A XXX Parodyshaking their fists at Twitter.
The actress has been critical this week of Harvey Weinstein and Ben Affleck amidst sexual assault and harassment allegations, and McGowan expressed her frustration with Hollywood, and those like Weinstein, through tweeting.
While it's not clear which tweet specifically got her suspended, McGowan's timeline shows a bevy of tweets discussing Bob Weinstein (brother to Harvey), Affleck, and calling out those who knew about Harvey's deplorable actions.
Since her unexpected suspension, people have raised their voices on the social media network in support of McGowan—speculating that the reasoning behind her suspension has a lot to do with McGowan being a woman on a platform that has a history of users abusing women.
SEE ALSO: Rose McGowan has been suspended from TwitterMany have condemned Twitter for not taking action against those who are seemingly more guilty of online bullying, like Donald Trump or neo-nazis. Instead, the social media network has gone after the Charmed actress, and by proxy, those who speak up against sexual assault. This makes the likelihood of women speaking out even more abysmal for fear of suspension or removal from Twitter.
